Media Invited to Cover & Photograph UVI’s 55th Commencement Ceremony – Bakari Sellers: Lawyer, Political Analyst and Former State Legislator to Speak – Distinguished Alumni to Receive Honorary Degrees

Members of the media invited to cover and photograph the University of the Virgin Islands 55th annual Commencement Ceremony on the Albert A. Sheen Campus and the St. Thomas Campus, May 16, and May 17, respectively. Both campuses will hold ceremonies at 1 p.m. On the Albert A. Sheen Campus, the ceremony will be held on the campus grounds and on the St. Thomas Campus in the Sports and Fitness Center.

CNN political commentator, lawyer and former state Legislator, Bakari Sellers will deliver the keynote address and receive an honorary degree.

Dedicated alumnus of the University, distinguished business leader and philanthropist, Cornel Williams will receive an Honorary Degree in Business Administration. Distinguished scholar, academic leader UVI Alumni and economist, Dr. Simon Jones-Hendrickson is slated to receive an Honorary Degree in Humane Letters.

Please RSVP to the Public Relations office no later than Friday, May 3, to ensure that your names are added to the gate list and that credentials have been created to allow floor access to photographers.
