Tuition Payment Options
Prepay with 2% Discount |
Payment Plan for the Academic Year
- New Students - Prepay in full for Fall & Spring semesters by August 19 to receive a 2% tuition discount.
- Current Students - Prepay in full for Fall & Spring semesters by August 1 to receive a 2% tuition discount.
Discounts are not applicable to students on financial aid or UVI scholarships. |
Pay in 2 Installments |
Payment Plan for the Academic Year
Fall semester payment is due in full by August 1. Spring semester payment is due prior to completing enrollment for Spring classes. No discounts are available. |
Pay in 4 Installments |
Payment Plan for the Semester
The first installment of 25% is due by August 1. The other installments are due by September 1, October 1, and November 1. A per semester administrative fee of $45 will be is charged to accounts with this option. |
Pay in 5 Installments |
Students may use Tuition Management System, https://uvi.afford.com/, to pay in tuition and fees in five installments. There are service fees for this option. Tuition Management System also offers education payment counseling. Contact an education payment advisor to learn more about available payment methods. |
These options are limited to full-time students not receiving scholarships or financial aid. New UVI students must pay their tuition and fees in full or pay their first installment by August 19. Returning students must pay their tuition and fees in full or make arrangements for one of the payment options in the UVI Business Office by August 1 to complete enrollment and enter classes for the Fall semester.
To ensure resources are available for instruction, students must pay their required tuition and fees prior to the start of classes. Students who do not conform to UVI’s Tuition & Fees Payment Policy will be removed from registered courses, regarded as not enrolled, debarred from attending classes, and prohibited from residing on University property and utilizing student services.
Refunds - If a student withdraws during a term, the refund for that term will be calculated in accordance with the University’s regular refund policy. In the event a student covered by one of UVI’s payment plans withdraws, or otherwise leaves UVI, the student may withdraw from the plan and the unutilized balance will be refunded.
Other Financial Aid Options
Scholarships |
A variety of scholarships are available for new and current UVI students. The application deadline is typically March 1. However, new scholarships become available year around. Scholarships do not have to be repaid. |
Grants |
Federal and territorial grants are typically available to students who have met certain criteria. Grants do not have to be repaid. |
Loans |
Subsidized, unsubsidized, private and public loans are available to students. Repayment is typically due 6 months after graduation, withdraw, or drop below half-time status. |
Employment |
Federal Work-Study provides part-time jobs for students with financial need, allowing students to earn money to help pay educational expenses. |
To be considered for Federal Financial Aid students must complete the Free Application for Financial Aid (FAFSA) at
www.fafsa.gov . Resources are limited. Apply as soon as possible.
Financial Aid Eligibility
In accordance with federal regulations, UVI’s Financial Aid Office must monitor each student’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) toward the completion of a degree. Financial aid is based on financial need, which is calculated by subtracting the expected family contribution from UVI’s cost of attendance. Student’s progress is checked at the completion of each term. The satisfactory academic progress review is based on the percentage rate of attempted credit hours, minimum cumulative and/or semester grade-point average (GPA), and timeframe needed for program completion. Tuition & Fees
Paying for college can be difficult, and with college tuition rates increasing across the United States, financial responsibilities can become overwhelming. At UVI, we want to help make your higher education goals affordable while keeping your college debt levels as low as possible.
Vaccination Policy
Required Immunizations:
- Polio (3 doses are acceptable)
- Tdap (Get a Tdap Vaccine once then TD booster every 10 years)
- TD
- MMR (2 doses required for all students)
- Hepatitis B (Series of 3 required for all students)
- Meningococcal Quadrivalent (A, C, Y, W-135) (Mandatory for all students)
- Serogroup B Meningococcal: (Bexsero 2 doses series or Trumenba, 3 dose series (recommended but not mandatory)
- MenB0 RC (Bexero) or MenB0FHbp (Trumenba)
- Varicella: (A history of chicken Pox, a positive varicella antibody or 2 doses of vaccines meet the requirement) History of Disease 2. Varicella antibody date, Result Reactive or Non- Reactive
- PPD Skin Test: CXR Results (required for positive PPD): INH Treatment received: 3 months, 6 months, and 9 months
UVI's Health Form must be completed by a medical provider and returned to UVI's Health Services Center prior to moving on campus or registering for classes.

Privacy Rights of Students & Parents - FERPA Regulations
UVI adheres to strict policies regarding the release of student information. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords students certain rights with respect to their educational records.
1. The right to inspect and review the student's education records within 45 days of the day the University receives a request for access.
2. The rights to request the amendment of the student's education records that the student believes are inaccurate or misleading.
3. The right to provide written consent before the University discloses personally identifiable information from the student's education records, except to the extent that FERPA authorizes disclosure without consent.
4. The right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education concerning alleged failures by the University to comply with the requirements of FERPA.

The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE or the Commission) provides opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and members of the public to submit information regarding the qualifications for accreditation of its member institutions. The Commission also provides an opportunity for any individual or entity to submit information regarding the Commission’s compliance with its own policies and procedures as well as requirements for federal recognition or the recognition criteria of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
