Psychology is the study of the complexity of human behavior and contributes in important ways to solving a wide range of problems.  The overall objective of the Department of Psychology at the University of the Virgin Islands is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and experiences necessary to achieve a broad representation of the field of Psychology and its application to various disciplines. Students will be introduced to a curriculum that prepares the graduate for success across multiple employment sectors, including marketing, human resources, public policy, data analysis and other health and human services related disciplines.  Additionally, the program provides the participants with a multicultural perspective on human perception, thinking, and behavior along with the conceptual and practical skills needed to work effectively in multicultural settings.  The Psychology Program at UVI is a comprehensive program that provides a solid foundation in the fundamental principles of psychology as well as an insight into the practical work involved in being a psychologist.
