"Providing Information for Strategic Decisions" The Office of Institutional Research is under the Information Services & Institutional Assessment component of the University of the Virgin Islands. We are an essential component of the University providing data internally in support of data-driven decision-making. The office of Institutional Research collects, organizes, analyzes, distributes, and presents data for planning, decision-making, and policy formulation to support the University's mission. We provide institutional data for the tri-annual meetings of the Board of Trustees through the Key Performance Indicators - KPIs, external constituents, including federal agencies, our accrediting body, local government, and the public. In addition, I.R. provides data externally by completing mandated federal and accrediting body reports and providing data for our stakeholders in standard and ad hoc reports. We report annually to the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education; administer national surveys such as the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) - data collected from this survey is a critical activity for accreditation. We also participate in Peterson's Annual Survey of Undergraduates, U.S. News Admission, and the Annual Survey of Colleges (CollegeBoard). Institutional Research supports student success and activities which contribute to the social and economic transformation by providing timely and accurate data, statistics, and information.
