The UVICELL Center is inviting public high-school students to participate in a free SAT preparatory program. Classes will be held 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday beginning March 15, 2014. Sessions will be held on both the St. Croix and St. Thomas campuses of the University of the Virgin Islands. Applicants must be 10th or 11th graders attending a public high school with a GPA of 2.0 to 3.5.
The SAT is the nation's most widely used college admission exam and is one of many factors colleges consider when making their admission decisions. The UVICELL SAT Prep Program uses a variety of methods such as assessments and practice exams to aid students in improving their scores. Students will receive pointers in time management, anxiety relief, scoring and general standardized test-taking tips.
Funding for this program is made possible by Dale LeFebvre, founder and chairman of Oson,VI, LLC, a management, consulting and investment advisory firm.
