Public high-school students in the Virgin Islands are invited to apply to a three-year program that is designed to prepare them for taking the SAT college entrance exam. The SAT Prep Program is being funded by Innovative and administered by the University of the Virgin Islands - Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning (UVICELL) Center.
Classes will be held 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday starting March 10, at UVI's St. Croix and St. Thomas campuses. Applicants must be 9th or 10th graders attending a public high school and have a GPA of 2.0 to 3.5.
Now in its eighth year, the SAT Prep Program uses assessments, instruction, test-taking strategies and practice exams to help students in improving their scores. Students are admitted in their freshman year and monitored over the course of their high school education in order to track their progress.
Interested applicants must submit applications to the UVICELL Center by Friday, Feb. 17, to be considered. Space is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
