Dr. Smith will lecture on the topic, "Forensic Science and Crime in the Caribbean," which should be of interest to a wide audience of students, law enforcers, lawyers and others.
The first presenter in the new "Open Doors" lecture series presented by the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Dr. Smith comes to the territory with an extensive background in forensic research, publishing and court testimony. He is a professor in the Department of Forensic Science at the University of New Haven and is professor emeritus of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The editor of the highly respected "Handbook of Forensic Drug Analysis," he has produced or contributed to more than 90 other books and articles in his field.
The public is invited to hear this dynamic and informative expert in two locations: Chase Auditorium on UVI's St. Thomas campus and the Great Hall on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix. Dr. Smith will be speaking from St. Croix and by video-conference to St. Thomas viewers.
