It is with great pleasure that I welcome you on behalf of the Student Activities department where we aim to make a difference. As you further your education here at the University of the Virgin Islands as our new Buccaneers, let’s collaboratively set sail to success by becoming engaged in the many opportunities provided by this illustrious institution. All aboard!!!

The Student Activities Office is here to serve you, the students. We are committed to serving you and to provide opportunities for your development personally, socially, and professionally, while complimenting your academic pursuits. Through the array of students clubs and organizations, and student governance, the Student Activities Office strives to offer an environment to develop well rounded students. Our office is committed to enhancing your collegiate experience while here at the University of the Virgin Islands. Once again, welcome!

The Office of Student Activities assumes major responsibility for the implementation of social, recreational, cultural enrichment, and student leadership development program as well as other extracurricular activities. It also serves as a facilitator for the development of clubs and organizations in response to student needs and interests. Because the University functions as a cultural center, many activities, lectures, musical performances and theatrical performances are open to the public as a means of drawing together the University community and the wider Virgin Island community.

The mission of the Student Activities Office is to complement the academic program of studies and enhance the overall learning experience of students through the development of, exposure to and participation in social, cultural, intellectual, student governance and recreational programs.

Our main goals focus on the development of student leadership skills, promotion of democratic values and the enhancement of student life. Through the assistance of student organizations, advisors and other campus resources, we aspire to:

1. Develop, enhance and promote student leadership skills, professional acumen, citizenship and democratic values.
2. Provide and promote enriching programs and experiences.
3. Provide an avenue where students can socialize and build positive relationships.
