The University of the Virgin Islands continues to monitor all activity associated with Tropical Depression Seven. According to the National Hurricane Center’s 11 a.m. advisory, TD Seven is located at 16.5 north and 49.6 west with maximum sustained winds of 35 miles per hour. Its present movement is at 14 miles per hour. There are no watches or warnings in effect for the U.S. Virgin Islands at this time.
Both campuses are asked to review the emergency response plansand begin preparedness activities in Phase Two, which is enacted 72 hours before a possible strike.

Back-up and secure all electronic data to ensure all sensitive equipment is protected.

Arrange to have photos taken of office and building contents.

Assign Area Team members to distribute plastic bags to cover equipment and files. Bags are distributed to individual workstations by area teams and if needed by Physical Plant.
