VI SBDC Reminds Small Businesses of the Paycheck Protection Program Deadline

The Virgin Islands Small Business Development Center (VI SBDC) encourages small businesses affected by COVID-19 to apply for Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) federal disaster assistance before the March 31 deadline. Counselors and consultants are available to provide confidential consulting and no-cost assistance with application submission.

“Now is the time to contact the VI SBDC if you need assistance with the Federal Paycheck Protection Program as this funding opportunity is scheduled to end March 31, 2021. We urge small business owners to gather the necessary documentation to submit their applications,” stated Ted J. Gutierrez, VI SBDC state director.

The SBA has made available, a cross-program eligibility chart on SBA Coronavirus Relief options to bring clarity to small businesses for financial support. You can visit their website at https://www.sba.gov/funding-programs/loans/coronavirus-relief-options/cross-program-eligibility-sba-coronavirus-relief-options.   The VI SBDC has published COVID-19 resources in the form of guides with the programs explained, business resiliency, how to calculate loan amounts, borrower and forgiveness applications and fillable reopening signs.  These are available at  www.visbdc.org by selecting the COVID-19 Resources tab.
