Members of the media are invited to cover and photograph a check presentation from the proceeds of the Music is Life benefit concert held in St. John last spring. Intellectual Global Concept USVI LLCC hosted the concert and will present a $30,000 donation to the University of the Virgin Islands’ Music Department at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, in the Music Department Building on the St. Thomas Campus.
The concert was a collaborative effort done in conjunction with Viya, the Virgins Islands Department of Tourism, Coral Bay Caribbean Oasis, the Research and Technology Park (RT Park) and the University of the Virgin Islands. The proceeds of this event was intended to support the University’s recovery from the 2017 back-to-back Hurricanes Irma and Maria that damaged both of the University’s campuses and the RT Park. The $30,000 donation to the Music Program will help to support the development of future musical leaders in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
