The University of the Virgin Islands’ Brothers With a Cause (BWC) Association is hosting its 1st annual Dine with a Brother on November 17, 2018, themed “A Night of Chivalry – The Fight Against Domestic Violence.” The event will be held in the UVI Cafeteria on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The dinner will focus on bringing awareness to domestic violence, in an effort to decrease acts of violence within the Virgin Islands. The event will feature two guest presenters, Clema Lewis and Carnell Troutman, who will speak based on their experience with domestic violence from a female and male perspective, respectively. They will also highlight different actions we can take to help end domestic violence. Entertainment will be provided by the legendary DJ Swain. Admission is $20 per person, or $30 per couple. Tickets are available at the UVI bookstore.
As the great Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” "Domestic Violence is an issue that not only impacts the Virgin Islands, but it's a worldwide issue that's affecting young men and women throughout the world. Join us in this wondrous event so that you can be informed about steps to ending Domestic Violence." BWC is encouraging the community to come out and stand with us, as we stand against domestic violence.
