Members of the media are invited to cover and photograph a gift presentation to the University of the Virgin Islands on Wednesday, May 24, at the Ralph Paiewonsky Library on the St. Thomas Campus. Dale LeFebvre, managing member of Anvil 1, RT Park Client, inventor, philanthropist, and investor, will donate $750,000 to the University. Anvil I is a technology and knowledge-intensive consulting, advising and investment firm. The check presentation will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.
There will also be a panel discussion at 10:45 a.m. on May 24, for the Global International Leadership Managing Development (GILMD) Institute in Chase Auditorium, the School of Business Building, Room 110. Panelists will discuss the role of private sector and new economy strategies for the Territory. The panelists are: Professor Brett Gilbert of Rutgers University who is an award-winning academic on strategies for building hubs in the global South, LeFebvre and Dr. Gillian Marcelle, executive director of UVI Research and Technology Park.
