Members of the media are invited to cover and photograph the University of the Virgin Islands 27th Annual Afternoon on the Green. The event will take place noon - 5 p.m., Sunday, March 20, on the Herman E. Moore Golf Course of the St. Thomas Campus.;This year's theme is International Peace is the Scene at Afternoon on the Green 2016. A large food tent will contain a variety of international and Caribbean cuisine. This family fun day features live entertainment from Cool Session Brass band, All Xccess band, the Mungo Niles Cultural Dancers and more.Parents can bring their kids to enjoy games, face painting, and a bouncy pen.
Additionally, an Academic Tent will display a number of programs and activities available at UVI. Afternoon on the Green is a friendraiser and fundraiser to support student scholarships. During the afternoon, the University will grant the Edward Thomas Volunteer Scholarship to a student.
