Members of the media are invited to cover and photograph the University of the Virgin Islands’ School of Medicine (SOM) Medical Facilities Groundbreaking Ceremonies on March 2 and 3.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the Medical School Classroom Building will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2, across from the Eastern Caribbean Center. The groundbreaking for the Medical School Simulation Center will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 3, across from the information kiosk on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix.
SOM administrators, faculty, and staff will be in attendance. UVI President David Hall and Benjamin Sachs, UVI SOM dean, will be on hand to answer questions directly after the ceremony.
Shuttle service will be available to transport attendees to the site on the St. Thomas Campus. Parking arrangements have been made for the ceremony on UVI’s Sports and Fitness Center. Attendees are asked to arrive early. Attendees on St. Croix are asked to park in the main parking areas on the Sheen Campus.
