Members of the media are invited to cover and photograph as the Virgin Islands Society of Certified Public Accountants (VISCPA) presents the first Minority Accounting Students Scholarship to two University of the Virgin Islands accounting majors.
The scholarships will be presented at the society’s annual meeting from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, at the society’s annual meeting on both campuses. The presentation will be made in the Teacher Education Building, room 101, on the St. Thomas Campus and in Evans Center room 713 on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix.
“We are all very excited,” said Sherri Levin, VISCPA vice-president for St. Thomas, of her board members. “It is an honor to be able to provide a scholarship that will enable accounting majors to graduate from UVI as licensed accountants and have the option to continue to serve in the Virgin Islands.”
The VISCPA, which is the only association dedicated to enhancing the professional success of CPAs in the territory, plans to offer this scholarship annually.
