The University of the Virgin Islands Spring 2015 semester has new faces in key positions involving student academics and campus life.
Dr. Stephen Reames has joined the UVI staff as dean of the School of Business. Dr. Reames has spent numerous years at
institutes of higher learning around the world. He is the former founding dean of theCollege of Business Administration, at A’Sharqiyah University, a private college located in the Sultanate of Oman. Prior, Dr. Reames was a visiting professor of the School of Business and Management of the American University of Armenia, in the Republic of Armenia. American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Dr. Reames was awarded the Fulbright Scholar by the U.S. State Department for his teaching assignment in Russia. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Science from the University of North Texas.
Dr. Stephen Moore has joined the UVI staff as executive director of Student Success and Honors Programs within the University’s Center for Student Success. Dr. Moore has extensive experience in student support, tutoring, advising and counseling. He was the founding director for the Peer Mentor Program at Fairmont State University. Dr. Moore also served as graduate assistant of athletics advising and counseling at Syracuse University. At Syracuse he also worked in the areas of student support and retention. Dr.

Moore was also the business learning coordinator, faculty developer and instructional designer for Fairmont State University. Dr. Moore holds a master’s degree and Ph.D. in Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation from Syracuse University.
Trudi Golphin has been selected to oversee student life as director of residence life for the Albert A. Sheen Campus on
St. Croix. Golphin brings a wealth of experience to the position, having served in various capacities over the past 16 years in university administration.
Golphin joined UVI in 2006 in the position of student employment coordinator, where she placed students in employment positions on and off campus. She later joined the Campus Advising and Tutorial Services Center as program specialist.

At the University of Technology in Jamaica, she served as advisor to the university president on student issues, with responsibility for improving the relationship between students and the university administration.
She also held the position of manager of residence life, where she focused on programs that enhanced the all-around university experience for the resident students, including improved social activities.

registration, transcript processing, course scheduling and graduation processing. Prior to her role as registrar, Potter was a programmer/analyst, where she assisted students with enrollment to UVI, and served as a customer service representative. Potter is a graduate of UVI, having obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts Degree in business administration.
