Members of the media are invited to cover and photograph the presentation of a four-year Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) scholarship to Cadet Capt. Morgan Cleaveland to attend the University of the Virgin Islands at 10:30 a.m. on June 10, at the Ivanna Eudora Kean High School (I.E.K.H.S.).
Cleaveland, an I.E.K.H.S. senior, is the fifth student to receive a full ROTC scholarship to UVI. It will cover tuition, books and all educational expenses at the University.
Cadet Lt. Col. Dinelle Cadette and Cadet Maj. Jamaal Al-Ameen will also receive scholarships on June 10. They are all currently participating in the Junior ROTC program at the Kean High School.
ROTC Caribbean Region Commander Lt. Col. Rodel Ramirez, professor of military science, will attend. UVI ROTC team spokesperson 2nd Lt. Herman Bardouille, who was recently commissioned as second lieutenant during the Commencement Ceremony on UVI’s Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix, will present the checks to the cadets.
