High school juniors and seniors – as well as all other prospective students – are invited to come and explore the ocean of opportunities available at the University of the Virgin Islands. UVI will open its doors with Open House sessions set for Wednesday, Feb. 26, on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix, and on Friday, Feb. 28, on the St. Thomas Campus.

“UVI Open House is an informative yet fun day that showcases the University’s excellent academic programs, student support services and campus facilities,” said UVI Director of Admissions/Recruitment Dr. Xuri Maurice Allen. The open houses will be hosted by UVI’s Access and Enrollment Services office. They will provide prospective students with information on important topics such as admissions requirements and deadlines, financial aid, and available scholarships.

March 1 Deadline Set
for UVI Scholarship Applications

March 1 is the deadline for both current and prospective UVI students to submit applications for UVI Scholarships for the 2014-2015 academic year.
Applications are available in person at the UVI Financial Aid offices on the St. Thomas Campus and on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix. Applications can also be downloaded from the Scholarships page of the Financial Aid Section of the UVI website – http://www.uvi.edu.
Please direct questions to the Financial Aid office at (340) 693-1090 on the St. Thomas Campus or at (340) 692-4193 for the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix.

“We want our UVI Open House guests to come and explore the ocean of opportunities available at the University and to discover that UVI is more than they may think,” Dr. Allen said.

UVI Open House activities will include an official University welcome, a UVI student panel presentation, campus tours and an Academic and Organization Fair. Each open house session will launch with musical entertainment. Participants will have the opportunity to meet with the leaders and members of student groups. Academic deans and department heads will also be on hand to address any questions.

“This year’s Open House promises to convey to our guests the message that UVI is, indeed, an Undeniably Viable Institution,” Dr. Allen said.

Both sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 2 p.m. The venues will be the Great Hall on St. Croix and the Sports and Fitness Center on St. Thomas. UVI is organizing the participation of high school juniors and seniors directly with the individual schools. Other persons interested in participating in one of UVI's Open Houses should send an e-mailing to admissions@uvi.edu or call the Access and Enrollment Services office on the campus hosting the session they wish to attend: St. Thomas Campus (340) 693-1165 or Albert A.
