UVI’s Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning Center (UVICELL) announced the launch of a redesigned website that will enable its students, community partners and the business community to find what they’re looking for with greater ease. The redesigned website was launched on Jan. 23, 2014, and can be found at http://cell.uvi.edu.

The website has a number of innovative features that improve functionality and will provide a more simplified user experience. Some of the improvements to the new website include: enhanced search capabilities; responsive design that resizes the site display on desktops, tablets and smart phones; rotating home page banner images with captions and thumbnail navigation; user-friendly navigation based on audience; and social media integration.

Following the roll-out of the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) website in August 2013, the UVICELL Center embarked on the development of a microsite (a smaller site that is part of a larger UVI web site). The new and improved UVICELL website is part of the long-term strategy to rebrand the Center to be more responsive to the needs of job seekers, working professionals and the business community.

The mission of the UVICELL Center is to meet the needs of adult learners in a rapidly-changing economy.  While college degrees are vital, the Center provides access to dynamic training programs that help individuals gain new skills, update existing skills, and earn continuing education units or prepare for licensure.  The Center also works with the business community and government agencies to provide relevant and high-quality programs to support the development of a well trained workforce.

The Center plans further enhancements in the coming months, creating a seamless user experience for users of the site.  For more information on the programs offered, call the UVICELL Center at (340) 693-1100 or visit http://cell.uvi.edu.
