The University of the Virgin Islands is seeking public input in order to develop its next five-year strategic plan. Town Hall meetings will take place on St. Croix, St. John and St. Thomas from May 8 through May 10, 2012.
Vision 2012, the University's current strategic plan, will conclude on Sept. 30, 2012. The new strategic plan will cover the period from Oct. 1, 2012, through Sept. 30, 2017.
"A dynamic strategic plan is one in which the collaborative input of all stakeholders is represented," says UVI President Dr. David Hall. "We are very interested in hearing from the general public about their views on the future of the University. This will make our strategic plan stronger and more responsive to the needs of the Virgin Islands community."
Community members will be asked to provide input on Tuesday, May 8, in the Great Hall on UVI's Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix.
The St. Thomas community will have an opportunity to provide input on Wednesday, May 9, in the first-floor conference room of the Administration and Conference Center (ACC) building.
On Thursday, May 10, members of the public are invited to bring their opinions and suggestions to a Town Hall meeting in UVI's St. John Academic Center on the third floor of the Marketplace in Cruz Bay.
All of the sessions will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
Faculty, staff, students and members of the UVI Board of Trustees have already provided their suggestions. Vision 2012 was developed in a similar manner, with members of the public discussing the University's successes and charting potential goals for the future.
