The Golden Key International Honour Society on UVI's Albert Sheen Campus on St. Croix inducted 26 new student members in a ceremony on Tuesday, April 26. Golden Key is the world's premier collegiate honor society. Golden Key recognizes outstanding academic achievement and connects high-achieving individuals locally, regionally and globally with lifetime opportunity, reward and success.
The inductees were: Wael Abduljaber, Valda Austries, Vanessa Battiste, Tasha Belardo, Salal Cook, Nicholas Cromwell, Joanna Delano, Miguel Emanuel, Afiya Felix, Anthea Francis, Jmail George, Kimora Gregoire, Sarah Greenaway, Jenell Hendrickson, Joseph Irwin, Tammi Jackson, Tobias Ortega-Knight, Aliyah Parris, Sunil Rivera, Jaqueline Russell, Khuma Simmonds, Kara Spencer, Ghadeer Taha, Shauna Tucker, Raydiance Watts-Clarke and Mandisa Williams.
Four individuals were named honorary members of Golden Key during the ceremony. These included Cheryl Francis, wife of Lieutenant Governor Gregory Francis and founder of the Stop the Bleeding Foundation, Dr. Dante Galiber, UVI Associate Professor of Journalism Dr. Gillian Royes, and Colleen Williams, principal of the Ricardo Richards Elementary School.

During the ceremony it was announced that three Golden Key members on St. Croix - sophomore Wael Abduljaber, junior Anthea Francis and senior Mandisa Williams - will receive $100 scholarships from the Golden Key Society's national office.
New Golden Key officers for 2011-2012 were also installed during the ceremony. They include President Amber Magloire, Vice President Mandisa Williams, Treasurer Ghadeer Taha, Secretary Keila Medina, Historian Afiya Felix, Community Service Director Jmail George, Public Relations Director Shauna Tucker and Fundraising Director Raydiance Watts-Clarke.
