On Monday, Aug. 16, UVI President Dr. David Hall will welcome students at 6:30 p.m. in the Great Hall of the North West Wing on the St. Croix campus. An important session with motivational keynote speaker L. Trenton Marsh, at right, will take place following President Hall's remarks. All newly admitted full- and part-time students are urged to attend. Parents, spouses and partners are invited to join students for this informative lecture. Admission is free.
Marsh, the author of From 1.0 to 4.0, is a sought-after public speaker who lectures on education - specifically academic excellence. The first African-American male student commencement speaker at George Washington University in May 2004, his lifestyle and community involvement have garnered Marsh attention and recognition by Essence Magazine, CNN and the Congressional Black Caucus, among others.
President Hall will welcome students to the St. Thomas campus at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday in the Sports and Fitness Center. Marsh will give the keynote address to students on the St. Thomas campus at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 18, in the Sports and Fitness Center. Attendance at this event is required for all newly admitted full-time and part-time students.
