UVI to Host Third Caribbean Law Fair March 20 and 23

The University of the Virgin Islands Counseling and Placement Offices will sponsor the third annual Caribbean Law School Awareness Fair in conjunction with the Texas Southern University's Thurgood Marshall School of Law. The law fair will be held on March 20, on the St. Thomas campus, and on March 23, on the St. Croix campus.

Representatives from six law schools - Howard University School of Law, Chapman University, Case Western Reserve University, New York Law School, the St. Thomas (Miami) University School of Law and Florida Coastal University School of Law - will join with members of the Virgin Islands Bar Association and the American Bar Association's Council on Legal Education Opportunity (CLEO) at the fair. CLEO has been at the forefront of helping minority, low income and disadvantaged students, gain access to law school, successfully matriculate and pass the bar exam. On the St. Thomas campus, the Law School Awareness Fair will be hosted in the Administration and Conference Center on March 20, with a welcome session at 11 a.m. and a Panel Discussion with the topic "Is Law School Right for Me?" scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. One-on-one discussions with law school representatives will continue from 1 to 2 p.m.

The Law Fair continues from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, March 23, in the North West Wing's Great Hall on the St. Croix campus.
