Business After Hours on St. Croix to Celebrate "35 Years of Development" at UVI

The University of the Virgin Islands' Institutional Advancement component and the St. Croix Chamber of Commerce will host Business After Hours on UVI's St. Croix campus from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, in the atrium of the Melvin Evans Center. Come out and network with members of the business community as the University showcases some of its most memorable alumni, donors, programs and events.

As always, the Chamber's Business After Hours on Thursday will provide a welcoming social atmosphere with hors d'oeuvres, the Chamber's customary cash bar and door prizes. The event will feature video presentations and a chance to win two (2) tickets to the Oliver Samuels production of "A Sheep in Wolf's Clothing," which will be presented on Friday, July 10 at the Island Center on St. Croix.

The UVI Institutional Advancement component began its development activities in 1974. With a goal of promoting the University while stimulating philanthropy, the component, headed by Interim Vice President Dr. Henry H. Smith (a College of the Virgin Islands alumnus), consists of the Reichhold Center for the Arts, the Office of Annual Giving and Alumni Affairs, Public Relations, Advancement Services and Scholarships, Major Gifts and Special Events. So far this year UVI's Office of Institutional Advancement has secured more than $150,000 in donations for deserving scholarship recipients.
