Afternoon on the Green is a long-standing UVI tradition that brings the community together for great food, family fun, and local talent.

Carnival royalty always makes a special appearance at AOTG. These princess contestants, in their colorful, springtime garb, lit up the green with their tenacity and smiling faces.

Chefs came all the way from the big island of St. Croix to participate in the splendor that is Afternoon on the Green.

This year's Afternoon on the Green featured a children's corner with popcorn and cotton candy stations, bounce houses, bubbles stations and even a few baseballs and bats for day full of engagement and fun.

Look at their faces as the supposedly dangerous domino is about to be laid on the table!

Crowd participation is a must at Afternoon on the Green. With the good food, positive vibes, and the energetic music, it's difficult not to get up and dance.

The dessert table at AOTG was adorned with colorful assorted cupcakes and sugar cake, passion fruit cake, and a multitude of other centennial delicacies.

Thrive Chiropractic encourages healthy living by offering free spinal scans under their "wellness tent."

The UVI Mocko Jumbies are always in attendance with cheerful smiles, sparkling pants, and a readiness to dance.

Afternoon on the Green is the perfect place to make new friends and experience new foods. While some participants come to taste their favorite dishes, others come to experience an array of new flavors.

The Mungo Niles Cultural Dancers are a crowd favorite at Afternoon on the Green, known for their dedication to keeping cultural dance alive by teaching the community.

Parents are strongly encouraged to bring their children to Afternoon on the Green. Family fun is a key element to the University's annual "friend-raiser."

The UVI Carnival Troupe also unveiled an international theme at Afternoon on the Green - "A Global Explosion the Never Ends." The bright yellow costume on the left was entitled, "The International Odyssey," while the costume on the right was called, "The Caribbean Excursion."

Afternoon on the Green creates an opportunity for meeting new people and building a bigger, stronger network. Many of UVI's executive body, including President Hall, are regular participants of the event.

This year's Afternoon on the Green showcased foods from around the globe, including Indian chicken tandoori and Spanish flavored pinon. There was no shortage of Caribbean foods, though. Ital soup, goat water, pumpkin fritters, seafood gumbo, and shrimp and potato chowder were just some of the Caribbean inspired dishes on the green.

UVI clubs and organizations host several demonstrations throughout the day; allowing the public to see what is happening in the world around us and highlighting how the University allows students to explore their home and beyond.

Afternoon on the Green showcases food, people, and cars too! Local car and bike clubs and car enthusiasts are always ready to show off their latest upgrades.

Afternoon on the Green offers bouncers, face painting, story telling and an array of games and activities to keep children - and their parents - happy.

Mrs. Lisa Wynne-Magnuson of the Virgin Islands Etiquette and Leadership Institute, was dressed in full cultural attire and cheer, as she gave young girls tips on proper table etiquette.

Afternoon on the Green is known for offering the musical styles of many local performers. Some former entertainers include Xcess Band, Cool Session Brass, the Addelita Cancryn Marching Band and Dancers, EBO Steel Owls, and many others.
