General Information

  • Does the University take a percentage of my donation to cover operating costs?

100 percent of your gift to the University goes to support the area designated by the donor. A donor can request his/her funding be used to support operating costs but this is not the norm.
  • I would like to give a donation to the University. Where should I designate my money to have the greatest benefit?

The President's Fund is used to support areas of greatest need. When making an unrestricted gift, you allow the University the flexibility to decide how best to use your charitable contribution.
  • Does the University have recognition opportunities for a prospective donor? At what level must I give to be recognized?

All gifts are important to UVI regardless of the dollar amount. We do, however, categorize our donors depending on the level of their contribution. Here are the Giving Circles for the University:

    UVI Giving Circles
    UVI Partners: $10,000+
    Ralph Paiewonsky Circle: $5,000 - $9,999
    Founders' Circle: $1,000 - $4,999
    Trustees' Circle: $500 - $999
    President's Circle: $200 - $499
    UVI Supporters: $100 - $199

There are many ways to give to the University. To learn more, please see our newly adopted Gift Acceptance Policy which:

  • Provides guidance on complex gifts, i.e. non-cash transactions
