For many students, the college application process is a labor-intensive and stressful one. At the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI), however, we make it as student-friendly and stress free as possible. The requirements for admission to UVI are straightforward and the steps to applying are simple and easy-to-follow:
Freshman Admission Requirements
- High school curriculum
- 4 units English
- 3 units Mathematics
- 3 units Science
- 3 units Social Science
- 2 units in Foreign Language (preferably in the same language)
- Cumulative grade point average (GPA)
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 on the 4.00 scale
- An earned General Education Development (GED) diploma
Freshman Admission Steps
- Complete the Application for Undergraduate Admission (either online or hard copy)
- Deadline for Fall Semester – April 30
- Deadline for Spring Semester – October 30
- Submit an official high school transcript or an official GED results transcript
- Submit official SAT and/or ACT results (optional)

- UVI Code for ACT – 5288
Transfer Admission Requirements
- At least 12 semester hours of college-level coursework with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00 on the 4.00 scale
- Good academic and student conduct standing at the college(s) and university(ies) previously attended
Transfer Admission Steps
- Complete the Application for Undergraduate Admission (either online or in hard copy)
- Deadline for Fall Semester – April 30
- Deadline for Spring Semester – October 30
- Submit an official transcript from each college or university previously attended
