The University of the Virgin Islands Alumni Call Center is hosting its 3rd annual Thank-a-Thon from Nov. 21-28. Alumni will be phoned and thanked for their contributions to UVI over the years. The Thank-a-Thon is primarily powered by highly trained UVI students and seeks to show appreciation for the support shown by the alumni and global community.
“It is a great feeling to be a member of the student body and a member of the dynamic Call Center team which has aided in raising funds for scholarships and academic programs. Even though we were a small team this year, we made a big impact with our alumni,” said Dayanara Felix, a sophomore attending UVI pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice. “I really enjoyed myself while interacting with our alumni who took time to share their stories and memories while they were attending UVI and or CVI.”
Last fiscal year, the center was challenged with a goal to achieve a 25 percent alumni participation rate. Although impacted by the hurricanes, the team was able to reach more than half of the goal.
