High School seniors who are interested in attending the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) for the Fall 2016 semester are encouraged to register early for the placement exam. Students with SAT or ACT scores below University guidelines are required to take the placement exam, which evaluates proficiency levels. Proper placement in the reading, writing, and math courses help to ensure student success and allows for advancement toward their degree goals. Placement testing is scheduled on an on-going basis from May 11, through August 11. Testing is administered by the UVICELL Center and will be conducted in two locations.
Testing on St. Thomas will take place at the UVICELL Center on the St. Thomas Campus. On St. Croix, all placement testing will be held at the UVICELL Center located at #23A Hospital Street in Frederiksted.
Students are encouraged to register early during the testing window in order to meet with academic advisors and select appropriate courses. Registration is required and must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance of the test date. Walk-ins will not be accepted. Students must check-in at least 30-minutes prior to the start time of the exam. A valid picture ID and UVI student number are required.
