National Women & Girls HIV Prevention to be Commemorated with Scavenger Hunt on April 9

UVI Substance Abuse and HIV/AIDS Prevention Program will commemorate National Women & Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NWGHAAD) with a scavenger hunt on April 9. NWGHAAD is an annual, nationwide observance that sheds light on the impact of HIV/AIDS on women and girls. Every year on March 10, and throughout the month of March, federal, national, and community organizations come together to offer support and hope, reduce stigma, share information, and empower women and girls to learn the importance of HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and treatment.

This year UVI’s prevention program will hold their second annual “Scavenger Hunt,” which is open to all UVI female students. The Scavenger Hunt will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, in the UVI Sports and Fitness Center on the St. Thomas Campus. There will be refreshments, music, prizes, and lots of fun activities. To register or for additional information, contact the Prevention Program at (340) 693-1122. Registration deadline is April 6. Space is limited so sign up today.
