The UVI Institute for Geocomputational Analysis and Statistics has released new web mapping applications that can be used to map the environment. Through the applications, citizens in the Virgin Islands can aid scientific research being conducted at UVI.
Some of the projects include:
- Identify Different Seagrass Species
- Nassau Grouper Sightings
- Deer Sightings in the USVI
- WUVI Radio Listenership
Each project contains a map that will allow the location of observations on the maps and ask a few questions. Observation can be entered on many of the maps. A smartphone or GPS are not needed.
