The University of the Virgin Islands Red Ribbon Committee and the St. Kitts and Nevis Student Association invite the UVI community to participate in Red Ribbon Week, Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities from Oct. 26 to Oct. 30.

Create awareness of living a drug free life on Monday, Oct. 26, which has been dubbed “Wear Red Day.” UVI students, faculty and staff are asked to wear red in recognition of Red Ribbon Week. Create awareness by wearing some or all red and post a picture on social media using the hashtag #UVIRRW2015. Stop by the cafeteria between 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. to sign a drug free pledge and receive a free token.
Wear Pink Day: Breast Cancer Awareness Month- I have Hope
Wednesday, Oct. 28, has been dubbed “Wear Pink Day.” Students, faculty and staff are asked to wear pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Create awareness by wearing some pink or all pink and post a picture on social media using the hashtag #UVISKNBC. Stop by the cafeteria between 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. and learn more about how you can join the fight to beat breast cancer.
Residence Hall Decoration Competition
Is your dorm block the most creative? Join in the competition and decorate your dorm block highlighting the various awareness themes for the month – Red Ribbon Week, Domestic Violence and Breast Cancer Awareness. Compete for bragging rights this year. Judging begins at 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 30.
Color Run and Fitness Jam
Come join in the fun at the “Color Run and Fitness Jam” at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, beginning at the Police Station nearest to UVI’s St. Thomas Campus. The event will end at UVI’s Outdoor Basketball Court. Music is by DJ Wendell and the Frontline Band. These events are sponsored by the Red Ribbon Committee and St. Kitts and Nevis Student Association.
