The Student Government Association on UVI's Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix will host its eighth annual Shadow Our Students (SOS). Program on Wednesday, March 12. The program is designed to enhance UVI's recruitment efforts and build mentoring relationships between UVI students and graduating seniors in the local high schools. This year’s theme is "SOS: I'm College Bound." The goals are to inspire those in attendance to transition from good to great and to build lasting connections with the students. Participants will learn more about the benefits of a college education and the many opportunities for advancement offered by UVI. They also get a taste of a student’s life on campus. Previous SOS Programs have inspired many local high school students to attend colleges, universities and other institutions of higher learning.
The keynote speaker will be Stan Pearson II, a nationally known speaker, motivational comedian, author and salsa dancer. He travels the world speaking on leadership, diversity, self-esteem, and is known for connecting with audiences and teaching people to connect with each other.
