UVI’s Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix will host a Hispanic outreach program entitled “Preparing for the Next Generation of Hispanic Leaders” beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, in the NWW Great Hall. High school students, high school graduates, Hispanic and of Hispanic descent, in the community are invited to attend this informative session about higher education. UVI is committed to promoting the growth of Hispanic enrollment in higher education and opening the doors for the next generation of leaders.
Wednesday’s programs will give the community a chance to learn about the opportunities available at the University. UVI’s schools, colleges and departments will share information regarding their programs. In addition, a panel of Hispanic students recently admitted for Fall 2014, current undergraduate and graduate students, and alumni will share their experiences and aspirations.
This networking session will also highlight the achievements of recent high school graduates and culminate with an inspirational movie outdoors on the green. The whole family is invited. Traditional Hispanic hors d'oeuvres will be served. For more information, contact Director of Campus Operations Nereida C. Washington at (340) 692-4161 or Student Housing Supervisor Dr. Priscilla Williams at (340) 692-4194.
