Volunteers from the UVI community – students, alumni, faculty and staff – are sought for UVI’s annual Alumni Phonathon which will take place on the St. Thomas Campus. The Alumni Phonathon sessions will run nightly from 5:30 to 9 p.m., from September 23 through 25, in the first-floor conference room of UVI’s Administration and Conference Center.
Volunteers can participate for one night or all three. The Alumni Phonathon is the University’s primary vehicle for communicating with alumni and friends. The current campaign, the UVI 2014 “First to 50” Challenge: Reloaded, yields a 42 percent alumni giving rate. The campaign is 8 percent shy of achieving another national historic goal of 50 percent.
Approximately 60 volunteers are needed. Volunteers will place calls; update alumni contact information, and process pledges and contributions. Dinner will be provided each night. An orientation session for volunteers is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22, at the Phonathon venue. (Note: This is a date change.) To sign up, contact Senior Coordinator of Donor Relations and Special Events Liza Margolis at lmargol@uvi.edu or call (340) 693-1053.
