Forum on Truths and Myth of Marijuana Slated on St. Thomas Campus on March 20

UVI will host a forum focusing on the truth and myths surrounding marijuana from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, in the first-floor conference room of the Administration and Conference Center on the St. Thomas Campus. The theme will be "Marijuana: Uncovering the Truth and Busting the Myths." Panelists who will participate include Senator Terrance "Positive" Nelson, Deseree Lambertis of the Virgin Islands Police Department, Franz Brady, an alcohol and narcotics counselor, and natural healer/herbalist Ras Bobby Olivacce. Also planned is a debate by the Criminal Justice Constitutional Law Class on the subject "Should medicinal marijuana be legalized in the Virgin Islands?"

The forum is sponsored by the UVI’s St. Thomas Campus Counseling and Career Services, the Dean of Students Office, and the Psychology Student Association.
