UVI’s Buccaneers men's basketball squad concluded a disappointing season Saturday, with a tough 89-87 loss at home to UPR-Central Bayamon. The Bucs also lost at home Friday, falling to Polytechnica University, 92-74. Their final record was 0-10, with their only wins in pre-season, non-league play in St. Martin. At Saturday's game, members of the 2003 UVI Lady Bucs team (were) honored for winning that year's ODI Championship.
UVI’s Lady Bucs continue inter-division play this week, having already been credited with a win over Cayey in a game which was scheduled for today (Monday, March 10). Cayey has conceded the game. The Lady Bucs travel to Puerto Rico on Wednesday, March 12, for a 6:30 p.m. matchup against UPR-Mayaguez.
A final scheduled home game pits them against UNE (East University) in the Sports and Fitness Center at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 17. Their final scheduled season game is set at Inter American University in Puerto Rico at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19. The top eight teams in inter-league play will move on to quarter finals action. The Lady Bucs are 3 and 7 on the season.
