UVI, as one of the V.I. Government's semi-autonomous agencies, is again joining in the annual “10,000 Steps-A-Day’ walking challenge fitness effort. The eight-week program opened with organized walks on Jan. 25 and Feb. 8. Free pedometers for UVI employees enrolled in the CIGNA the government’s group health insurance plan are available from the Human Resources Office on the St. Thomas Campus and the Business Services Office on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix. Participants can register online to create a profile to log their daily steps at the following website: www.cornerstonefitness.com/gvi/10ksteps.html. This year, the “10,000 Steps-A-Day” program is part of an ongoing V.I. Government wellness program which includes all the semi-autonomous programs, including UVI.
