The Caribbean Writer Launches Volume 28 with Book Launch Party Oct. 15

The Caribbean Writer invites the UVI community to a book launch party for Volume 28 of the University’s international, refereed, literary journal with a Caribbean focus from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15, in the Great Hall of the Albert Sheen Campus on St. Croix.

Volume 28 highlights time, place and memories. It features insightful and exciting poetry, short-stories, one act plays, personal essays and book reviews by established and emerging writers from the entire Caribbean region, as well as the Caribbean diaspora. In addition, in recognition of the upcoming 100th anniversary of the transfer of the Virgin Islands from Denmark to the United States, there are three portraits of Virgin Islanders who lived during that period: Cyril Francois of St. Thomas, Marie Helener Branch nee  Philips of St. Croix and Marjorie Clendinen, a St. Thomian with Crucian connections.

Copies of Volume 28 are $25. They may be ordered via email at orders@thecaribbeanwriter.org of from the Caribbean Writer website: www.thecaribbeanwriter.org. More information is available from a news release in the Media Section of the UVI website and from this direct link.
