UVI’s Emerging Caribbean Scientists (ECS) program has issued a call for abstracts for undergraduate and graduate students to present their research project as a poster presentation at this semester's annual St. Croix Spring Student Research Symposium. The ECS program covers the cost of travel, transportation, and registration for undergraduate students that are Science and Math majors who register on time. The deadline for registration and submission of abstracts is Friday, Feb. 21. Students can register online by visiting http://ecs.uvi.edu. Students with questions should call Aimee Sanchez at (340) 693-1249 or send an email to ecs@uvi.edu.
The symposium will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, in the Great Hall on the Albert A. Sheen Campus. It is organized by UVI's College of Science and Mathematics and ECS program. The symposium is part of an overall effort to increase research training and promote excellence among UVI students. It provides an opportunity for students to display the results of their research projects, to showcase their talent and to interact with the community. Presentations are evaluated by a panel of judges for their scientific content and the clarity of presentation. This event is free and open to the public.
