VITEMA Tsunami Awareness Training Offered Nov. 5 and 6 on UVI’s St. Thomas Campus

VITEMA – the Virgin Islands Territorial Management Agency - will host Tsunami Awareness Training on UVI’s St. Thomas Campus on Tuesday, Nov. 5, and Wednesday, Nov. 6. It is designed as a two-part training series. Certificates will be awarded to participants who successfully complete Part 1 and Part 2. To provide flexibility for participants, Part One will be presented on Tuesday in both the morning and afternoon sessions. Part Two will be presented on Wednesday in both morning and afternoon sessions. This will allow participants can select which sessions are most convenient. Participants are required to complete a pre-test and post-test for both Part One and Part Two in order to receive a certificate of completion. Members of the UVI Emergency Response Team and Area Coordinators are strongly encouraged to attend.

The training will be presented by Dr. Donald Drost and Professor Roy Watlington. It will take place in the first-floor conference room of UVI’s Administration and Conference Center. Monday and Tuesday sessions are from 8 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 5 p.m. To register for the training send an RSVP to Diana Claxton at dclasto@uvi.edu.
