Virgin Islands Port Authority Announces Summer Employment Program for UVI and Other College Students

Summer employment opportunities are available at the Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA) for U.S. Virgin Islands high school and college students, including UVI students, according to a VIPA press release. The summer program will focus on giving students real-life job experiences that will help mold their career choices and inspire them to want to work in the aviation, marine or tourism industry. Students will be on job sites with VIPA engineers, marine pilots and in the administrative staff offices. The deadline for submitting applications is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12. The program will run for six weeks beginning July 1. Students that meet the necessary legal age and employment requirements may apply at VIPA's human resources office at the Administrative Building on St. Thomas, the assistant executive director's office at the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport on St. Croix or at the Marine Administrative Office at Enighed Pond, St. John. Summer employment applications are also available for download on the Port Authority's Web site at www.viport.com .
