AES Seminar on the Impact of Budget and Policy Debates on UVI and U.S. Insular Areas Set Oct. 31

The UVI Agricultural Experiment Station (AES) will sponsor a seminar titled "How the budget and policy debates in Washington can impact UVI and the U.S. Insular Areas" from 2 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31, in Research and Extension Center Room 133 on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix. The session will be available via videoconference on St. Thomas in Room 133 of the Education Building.

In recent years, Dr. Nipp worked with the leadership of the Land-Grant universities and colleges in the U.S. territories to help clarify their legal status and unique identity as Land-Grant institutions in the U.S. insular areas. Dr. Nipp has assisted in the development of programs that improve resident instruction in the insular areas, assessed the status and priority needs in the area of information technology, and assisted in the development of long distance education projects to leverage collaboration between the Insular Area Institutions and mainland universities.
