The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) are collaborating once again to provide engaging STEM educational programming to Virgin Islands students grades 1-12. Virtual sessions will be offered throughout the week to highlight many of NASA’s pioneering programs, such as the Artemis Mission to return astronauts to the Moon, and future missions to Mars. NASA presenters from different departments will also expose students to the vast array of careers available in the fields of STEM. Three sessions will take place each day at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. for the following grade levels:
Monday, January 25 1-3rd grades
Tuesday, January 26 4-6th grades
Wednesday, January 27 7-8TH grades
Thursday, January 28 9-10th grades
Friday, January 29 11-12th grades
In addition, 12th graders and UVI students interested in internship programs and/or scholarship opportunities at UVI can register for a special presentation on Tuesday, January 26 from 5-6 p.m.
Teachers and counselors can learn about scholarships and internship programs in a separate session scheduled on Wednesday, January 27 at 5-6 p.m. Participants will also receive educational resources and citizen science activities to assist with teaching STEM in the classroom.
