The University of the Virgin Islands 22nd Annual Fall Student Research Symposium will take place on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2021, as a Live Hybrid Event on both campuses.
The community will be invited to participate and show their support via Zoom.
The UVI symposia are organized by the Emerging Caribbean Scientists (ECS) Program in collaboration with the College of Science and Mathematics. Undergraduate students interested in presenting their summer research projects are required to complete this registration and submit an abstract by the deadline of Tues. Sept. 7, 2021.
As a live hybrid event, presenters will have the option to participate in person or online via Zoom. Lunch may be provided for in-person presenters. Students should prepare 3-minute speed talks with 2 minutes of Q&A for a total of 5 minutes per presentation. Presenters will be evaluated by judges based on their oral presentation, visual materials, research content, and ability to answer questions. Judges will score the presentations and provide feedback. Students that receive high scores may be offered fully-funded travel awards to present at a national research conference. We highly encourage students to register and submit an abstract early.
