The Public Relations Office is pleased to announce we have embarked on a new project to redesign and restructure the UVI website (www.uvi.edu) to be launched in 2021. The goal of the project is to develop a world-class site that is attractive, informative, easy to navigate and accessible to all audiences, internally and externally. We want it to reflect the quality and unique experience of a UVI education and we need your input to make it a success!
In this initial phase, we will be partnering with our contracted web design agency to gather input from current and prospective students, faculty and staff as well as those responsible for updating information on the website. We would like to know how you use the current site, what information and features are important to you, and what improvements you would like to see on our new site. In the coming days, we will be reaching out to a cross section of stakeholders to ask for your participation in focus groups and interviews. Our next step will be to distribute a survey to the entire community asking for your input and ideas. We value your candid and varied perspectives in this process to ensure all voices are heard and that we create a website that meets the needs of all users.
With your ideas in hand, the PR team will execute and manage the day to day tasks of this project, working closely with our contractor, and consulting regularly with UVI leadership and the UVI Website Advisory Committee, a team made up of faculty, staff and student representatives.
We will also be reaching out to all departments when it comes time to review and update the content on your pages. To keep everyone informed of our progress, we plan to produce a photo blog with website redesign updates.
