The Caribbean Writer will host an after-dinner reading affair Diasporic Reader Response Discussion Series, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020.
Alscess Lewis Brown, the editor said that participants from across the Caribbean diaspora will be considering three essays which derive from the journal’s 2020 theme, “Dignity Power and Place in the Caribbean Space.” They will be mulling over three essays from the recently published Volume 34 “Dignity Power and Place in the Caribbean Space.”
These sessions are a way of encouraging wider readership as well as to support the sales of the journal across the diaspora. The last online program drew close to 400 people, an indication that they have enjoyed a measure of success at inspiring, representing, and publishing writers within the diaspora and beyond for more than 34 years. Naturally, they are excited about the possibilities of this new discussion series.
First in the Series:
- About My Identity, p. 528 – Carmelo Rivera
- The Symbolic and Real Caribbean Space, p. 481 – Scott Ting-A-Kee
- Imaging Community, p. 501 - Millicent A. Graham
