UVI Commencement Ceremonies Set for May 17 – 18

UVI will host its 2018 Commencement Ceremonies at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 17, on the St. Thomas Campus. The Commencement Ceremony will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 18, on the Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix.

Diplomas:

• Diplomas will be distributed during Commencement as you cross the stage. 

 
Caps and Gowns:

• Candidates may pick up academic regalia at the University Bookstore St. Thomas Campus from May 1- 4 and May 7-8, 2018.

• Candidates may pick up academic regalia at the University Bookstore Albert A. Sheen Campus from May 7, 2018, through May 17, 2018, between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
• Participation:
• Only students who have met all graduation requirements can participate in the Commencement Ceremony. All undergraduate students must have completed all required classes in their major with a minimum grade of (C) and a cumulative GPA of 2.00 and above.
• All graduate students must have completed all required classes in their major with a minimum grade of (B) and a cumulative 3.00 GPA. Graduate students are allowed the maximum of two (C) grades.
• Rehearsal is mandatory.

Commencement Invitations and Tickets:

Each candidate for graduation on the St. Thomas Campus will receive one (1) printed Invitation and eight (8) Tickets on the Albert A. Sheen Campus will receive four (4) printed invitations.

1. Tuesday, May 15, 2018, from 4 p.m. -7 p.m. - Administration and Conference Center (ACC 203), St. Thomas
2. Wednesday, May 16, 2018, from 9:30 a.m.- 6 p.m. - Administration and Conference Center (ACC 203), St. Thomas

Students are required to satisfy all university obligations before receiving tickets and invitations.  The following must be completed before ticket/invitation distribution: 

1.    Financial Aid Exit Interview

2.    Graduating Senior Exit Survey

3.    Institutional Advancement Exit Interview

Each candidate for graduation on the Albert A. Sheen Campus, St. Croix will receive four (4) printed Invitations.

1.      Tuesday May 8-17, 2018 between 9 a.m.- noon and 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Location: Research and Extension Center Room 107 (next to the Great Hall), St. Croix.

Students are required to satisfy all university obligations before receiving tickets and invitations.  The following must be completed before ticket/invitation distribution:

• Rehearsal Monday, May 14, 2018, Time: 3 p.m. - St. Thomas, Location: Sports & Fitness Center (SFC).
• Rehearsal Tuesday, May 15, 2018, Time: 3 p.m.  - St. Croix, Location: Great Hall.
• Rehearsal is mandatory!

Candlelight Ceremony

• Monday, May 14, at 6 p.m. – St. Thomas, Administration and Conference Center
  • Tuesday, May 15, at 5:45 pm. – St. Croix, Cafeteria
