In conjunction with the Virgin Islands Department of Human Services and their federal partners, the University of the Virgin Islands St. Thomas Campus, will serve as one of the approved sites for the administration of the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP). Those impacted residents not already receiving assistance from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program are encouraged to register. The dates of the program administration are Nov. 6-9, and Nov. 13-15. Public registration will be facilitated in our Administration and Conference Center Building (ACC) first-floor conference room from 7a.m. to 6p.m. In an effort to minimize disruption to those working and frequenting the ACC Building, it is anticipated that registration will occur on the eastern side of the building (facing the public bus stop.)
Please exercise caution traversing the ACC Building during the program registration period due to the anticipated significant amount of people who will be on campus and in the building seeking this assistance. Please note that public parking will not be allowed in the ACC parking lot except for disabled persons and others with special circumstances or needs. As a result, individuals will more than likely be parking in the areas of the public bus stop, Sports and Fitness Center, CA Building, Brewers Beach, etc. Our Campus Security team and other law enforcement agencies will be onsite helping to regulate any challenges.
UVI’s St. Thomas Campus is only a site and is not directly involved in the registration or administration of the program or its benefits. For those individuals however, who feel that they have been impacted and wish to register with the Department of Human Services, you are encouraged to do so.
